This 87 years old "grandma" was spotted in the markets at serangoon areas almost everyday. What she was there everyday, not to buy food for cooking or for shopping , but was to gather those vegetable! vegetable which were a bit rotten or no body want from those vege store and bring them home, wash it and then try to sell them at the carpark nearby.
She did manage to sell those vegetable to the neighbourhood people and earn about $3 per day. Some of us may think that the vege she selling is "bad and rotten", but even her buyers knew that , they still buy from her, some of them said they can buy the vege for their pets, while some just push a few dollar to her without buying...
This grandma does have children, in fact she have 5 of them, 3 got their own family and 2 as temp workers. But why arent her children take care of her? well the explaination is they cant even take care of themselve...
Do you readers think that Singapore is a first world class country? our olders are just being forgotten as days passes even thought they have contribution in developing our nation last time. Maybe some of you may think this kind of thing can only blame her children , but i personally think that blame her children then really can help her? Our nation have so many many charity organization, but most are just held down by policy , or worse the organizer himself/herself, they dont even know that how bad those people need help. The public fund cannot really reaches those who need it...
